The House of Gold pendant is a unique square-shaped pendant. A square-cut white sapphire shines brilliant in the center, with ridges of gold mimicking rays of light around it. The shape and design are allusions to Solomon's Temple, with the center gemstone a symbol of the Inner Sanctum. Mary, the Blessed Mother, holds the title "House of Gold" because she is the pure and holy resting place of Our Lord. The title comes from the Litany of Loreto, a Marian litany that has been used as a powerful prayer since the mid-1500s. Legend holds that Mary's original house was somehow transported to Loreto, Italy (perhaps even miraculously, by angels). The Litany of Loreto is a beautiful litany that asks for Mary's intercession using many of her titles.
