JPII, sterling silver
Patron saint of World Youth Day, young Catholics, families, Poland- Feast Day October 22
Our JPII pendant is a glimmering gold coin-shaped piece that reflects God’s creation. The polished elements- sun, moon, stars, fish, wave, flower, fern, and bird- are inspired by Polish artwork and by animals and plants native to Poland, St. John Paul II’s homeland. In the center is a sparkling lab-grown white sapphire, representing the crown of creation: each unique human, made in God’s own image.
For this piece, we were inspired by St. John Paul II’s legacy of emphasizing the dignity of each person, unique and unrepeatable.
Dimensions: 24mm
Materials: Sterling silver; lab-grown white sapphire
Karol Wojtyla was born in 1920 in Wadowice, Poland. He was a creative and active personality, participating in theater, writing, and athletics. Karol’s life was marked by loss; by twenty, he had lost both parents and his siblings to illness. The world around him was in tumult, the Nazis in control, when he entered an underground seminary. His WWII experiences deeply impacted his teachings on human dignity.
