Queenship of Mary - Feast Day August 22

Imagery from Revelation influenced our design of the Regina Caeli hoops. Twelve stars adorn both sides of each hoop, adding texture and light play, and the high-polish finish means these hoops can be dressed up or down.

Mary holds the title Regina Caeli, Latin for “Queen of Heaven.” As Jesus’ mother, Mary’s entire life was a “yes” to God. She experienced his Crucifixion with more anguish than most of us could bear, and his Resurrection would have filled her with unspeakable joy. Catholic belief holds that Mary was assumed, body and soul, into Heaven, and that she was crowned there as Queen of Heaven. During the Easter season, Catholics pray a specific prayer called the Regina Caeli, to rejoice in the Resurrection. The prayer dates back to the 12th or 13th century.
